Real estate agents may get a hard time, but a recent survey of consumer satisfaction has found Kiwis hold a high degree of satisfaction with their agents.
Canstar Blue found that 73 per cent of respondents enjoy a good relationship with their agent and 69 per cent said they were quick to handle their request or complaints.
Sixty-five per cent would recommend them to a friend.
However, it appears that New Zealanders are fickle lot. Just 23 per cent said they have always used the same real estate agent.
The agency with the best results was Taranaki-based First National, taking top marks for property management, customer service, communications, overall satisfaction and value for money.
Auckland's Barfoot & Thompson placed first for property sales and advice.
Canstar New Zealand general manager Jose George said the industry was competitive so First National had done well.
He hoped the survey would help people think about what they needed from their agent.
"Before making any commitments with a real estate agency, it's important to do your research, find out what they specialise in, and ask other people about their experiences."
The survey was based on the views of 1162 adults who had used the services of a real estate agent in the last three years, including landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers.
